THE ENVIRONMENT WEEK 2015


Kabankalan City Water District (KCWD) participated in the City Environment Week Celebration held last June 19, 2015 at the Kabankalan City Public Plaza to support the city’s goal of helping save Mother Earth. KCWD, being an institution that supports the city’s objective of providing safe and abundant potable water supply for its constituents, utilizes various water resources. KCWD, which primarily uses water for its services, plays a great role in safeguarding bodies of water, hence its immediate action and support for efforts geared towards the preservation of nature.

June 19, 2015, Friday, KCWD joined the 15th Kabankalan City Environment Week celebration with the theme, “Seven Billion Dreams, One Planet, Consume with Care”. This activity promotes global awareness about environmental conditions in the gradual destruction of mother earth due to the doing of people itself. This event is actively participated in by the Kabankalan City Water District with the intention of gaining important knowledge about the topic and showing massive support for this significant environmental initiative.

The activity kicked off with a parade by employees of various government agencies as well as those from the private sector. A program was then held at the Kabankalan City Public Plaza where important delegates from the environment sector are in attendance. Kabankalan City Mayor Isidro P. Zayco spoke about how Kabankalan is doing in terms of environment preservation. He mentioned that among the activities supported by the local government are the Tree Planting, Mangrove Tree Planting and Clean – up Drives. Hon. Delia O. Anacan also gave her message on the present environmental condition and how we can be able to help preserve nature.

Aside from providing the people with unsurpassed water supply services, Kabankalan City Water District also supports efforts geared towards taking a giant leap for environment changes. It actively supports information dissemination of initiatives to save water and energy and save the Earth for the present and future generation.
